Thank You for your Support
Dear Neighbours and Constituents,
I would personally like to thank all my supporters and volunteers for all their hard work and dedication during this 2010 municipal election campaign. It was a long road over the past eights months of campaigning, but I am so happy that I chose to try and represent our community. I know that my campaign would not have been possible without your help, and I am very grateful for all that was done to try and help me succeed in my goal to better our Ward. I am also very glad to have had the opportunity to personally speak to many of you while canvassing or attending community events. I’m sorry that we weren’t victorious, but I’m sure that we have made a positive impact on our Ward for the future.
As you know may already know, I also ran for City Council in 2006 coming second to the incumbent by almost two thousand votes. This 2010 election was much closer as we came second to the incumbent by only a few hundred votes. Over the last few years I have spent much of my spare time volunteering within the community, and helping my family and friends who live in our Ward. During that time I have worked at: improving programs and community interaction with our high schools and students; cleaning up our parks through volunteerism; developing community programs for reducing crime; providing programs for students and troubled youth; providing transportation and other free services for our seniors; helping bring awareness to the neglected seniors in our community, and; enhancing the overall environmentalism in our Ward. While I’m not sure what the future holds for me I am committed to continue working to improve our community, and will give my best effort to change Ward 12 for the better.
If you have any questions or concerns about our community, or any local issues you need help with, please don’t hesitate to call me on my cell phone at (416) 243-8683 or email me at nick@nickdominelli.ca. I will be available to assist you as best I can regardless of my title or job description. I am pledging to continue my volunteering efforts in our neighbourhoods, and to continue my commitment to this community going forward.
Thank you again for all your hard work, help, dedication, and support.
Sincerely,
Nick Dominelli

Dear neighbours,
I have lived in ward 12 for more than 25 years and I understand the unique needs and challenges facing our community. I attended St Francis Xavier School and Chaminade College School, moving on to York University where I studied Political Science. I have been blessed with a wonderful family my wife Lory, son Adrian and daughter Eliana.
Community, like family, is very important to me and for far too long the needs of our community have been neglected. Our community deserves better, and I strongly believe that together we can make a difference. With your support I will ensure our community will again be the vibrant, safe community we once had.
It takes leadership, combined with knowledge and experience, to be an effective councillor. Having worked at City Hall for over 10 years, as both a Community Assistant and Executive Assistant under several different City Councillors, has thoroughly prepared me for the challenges ahead.
As a Policy Advisor in the Economic Development department, I added to my experience at City Hall, which has added to my first-hand knowledge of the processes and policies that need to be addressed, and the know-how to change them.
There are many issues that need urgent attention such as the budget crisis, transit planning, and economic revitalization initiatives. We cannot ignore these things if we are to build a vibrant and healthy Toronto that future generations will enjoy.
The most valuable resource in our ward is our community. Every effort should be made to provide a safe, productive, vibrant environment for your family and mine.
